Djokovic had led Serbia to their maiden and so far the only title at the 2010 Davis Cup and has been on the hunt for another Davis Cup title. They came close in 2013 but had to settle for the runners-up trophy after being defeated by the Czech Republic. Since then they have made the semi-finals only once in 2017.

This year Serbia along with France have been handed wildcards for the tournament. Serbia has been placed in Group F along with Germany and Austria and will play in the round-robin format from where the table toppers and two second-placed teams with the best records based on sets and games won will qualify for the last-8.

Serbia will begin their campaign against Austria on 26th November and then against Germany on 27th November in Innsbruck, Austria.
