Alexander Zverev qualifies for his 10th quarter-final match of the season and his 1st at the Indian Wells as the German overcomes French veteran Gael Monfils winning the match 6-1, 6-3 quite comfortably. After a gritty 3-set win in the 2nd round to start his campaign in the desert, Zverev has not dropped a set in his victories over Andy Murray in round 3 and Monfils in round 4.

Taylor Fritz moves into his 5th quarter-final of the season and similar to Zverev, his first at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The American has surprised quite a few with his performances this week in California and is yet to drop a set having won all 3 of his matches so far in straight-sets. The American beat Italian youngster Jannik Sinner 6-4, 6-3 in the 4th round to advance into the last-8.

Fritz will come into the tie with a career Hardcourt record of 153-91 and is 19-12 on the surface this season while being 25-18 across all surfaces this season. Zverev will take the court with a career Hardcourt record of 142-69 and is 28-5 on hardcourts this season and has a season record of 47-12 across all surfaces.

Looking at these numbers, their recent form and past few performances, it looks like Alexander Zverev will be the one heading into the semis but it will be a tough battle as Fritz will be high on confidence and has also played some great tennis this week in tricky conditions.
