Rishabh Pant proved doubters of his wicket-keeping prowess wrong by picking up two stunning one-handed catches on Day 2 of the second Test against England. His first catch was off Mohammed Siraj‘s bowling when Ollie Pope poked at a delivery outside leg-stump. Pant dived to his left and grabbed it with one hand before the ball popped out. However, the keeper was able to grab a hold of it on the second attempt.
His second diving catch arrived when Ishant Sharma had Jack Leach to edge one outside off-stump. Yet again, Pant had to dive to his left to pluck it out. With his excellent keeping as well as batting, Pant seems to have definitely sealed a place in the side as the permanent wicket-keeper for years to come in the longest format. The two catches have received high praise from fans and cricketers on social media who have stated that Pant has made a statement with his keeping.
