With the coronavirus pandemic putting a long halt at the tennis schedule, there is not much action to witness currently. However, World No. 2, Rafael Nadal is spending quality time with his family during the lockdown. As the media and fanatics all over the world want an official answer on Nadal’s participation in the US Open in August, he has shown signs of disinterest.

Even if Nadal misses the US Open, he still has the French Open up for grabs late in the month of September. Nadal is evidently the ‘king of clay’ even in his 30’s as he has won 12 French Open Titles and shows no sign of bowing down his dominance. Considered to be the hot favorite again if he chooses to play, Nadal could surely raise his odds to win his desirable 25 Grand Slams. However, the 34-year-old is willing to go crazy over the craze of clinching his 20th Grand Slam Title.

In a recent interview, Nadal spoke about he wishes to lift more titles and also wants to keep his head down, enjoying the sport of tennis. His desire is to lift 25 Titles by the time he retires but all that is in good spirit.

Nadal said, “I can’t go crazy thinking about 20th grand slam. I just try to keep my way. I just try to keep enjoying tennis. Of course, I would love to finish my career with 25, if it’s possible. But the thing is… Let’s see… Let’s see… I hope to keep producing myself the opportunity in the next couple of years,” as quoted by Essentially Sports.

Fans are eagerly waiting for Nadal to showcase or announce his 2020 schedule but are yet kept guessing. Now the ATP’s schedule has given some shape to his flow of events, it would be interesting to see who plays in what tournament and skips what.
