He ended the rather impressive career at the French club with 23 silverware in the cabinet. The former Brazilian Rivaldo believes that the full-back will certainly prove to be a helping hand to Frank Lampard. The Brazilian was not given an option to extend his contract at Ligue 1’s top league. So, he is now on a pursuit of making the rest of his career for Premier League.

The 35-year old is expected to commit himself to Chelsea till 2023. Silva is expected to be a role model for the young lads at Chelsea and will certainly be the best guiding force to Frank Lampard for the upcoming season. Rivaldo told the media that “At 35, Thiago Silva will sign for two seasons with Chelsea and I’m confident that he will do a great job there, as he is a great centre back with excellent positioning and vast experience of world football“.

New peak to achieve for Thiago Silva

The World cup winner in 2002 also quoted that “Nowadays, many players extend their careers until their late-thirties and Silva is a good example of that, as I was in my time“. He absolutely praised Thiago for keeping the best of his physique till the late 30s as well. “If you keep yourself in good physical condition you can easily play at the highest level until 36, 37 years old“, said the former Brazil international.
