Third Asian Youth Games to begin from November 20 next year


    The dates of 3rd Asian Youth Games has been announced by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) which will held from November 20 to 28 next year.

    The Asian Games which is also known as Asiad which is held after every four years between the athletes from Asia. The very first game was held in New Delhi until 1978 and was regulated by Asian Games Federation (AGF) but since 1982 these games were regulated by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). These games are considered as the second largest multi sport event after Olympic Games.

    The main objective of OCA promote or develop sport, to promote friendship, goodwill, peace through sports. And the head quarters of OCA is in Kuwait.

    Director General of OCA, Husain Al Musallam, wrote a letter to it’s members of National Olympic Committees (NOC’s) saying:“The OCA while maintaining a very strict isolation policy is still continuing it’s activity and liaising with the various Asian Games Organizing Committee to ensure that the preparation for the games are not hindered.”

    Further he told about the decision taken by the committee “In this respect I have the pleasure to inform you that the OCA in coordination with the Shantou 3rd Asian Youth Games Organizing Committee(SAYGOC) has decided the dates and sports programme of the 3rd Asian Youth Games which are as follows.

    Dates:- 20th to 28th November 2021,”

    There will be as many as 18 sports at the Games

    Athletics, Aquatics(swimming, diving and water polo), Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Dragon Boat Racing, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Hand ball, Hip Hop Dance, Rock Climbing, Rugby, Surfing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Wind Surfing, Wushu .
