Japanese World No. 3 Naomi Osaka is the only Japanese Grand Slam singles winner in history. She is also the first Asian to reach the World No. 1 ranking in professional tennis.
The three-time Grand Slam champion recently answered some fan queries on her Instagram account. In the Q&A session, she talked about her favorite sport besides tennis, apart from other things.
Naomi Osaka is a diehard fan of the LA Lakers

In response to a fan query about her favorite sport, Osaka revealed that she loved basketball the most after her own sport. The 23-year-old has been a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, an NBA franchise and the 2020 champions.
She also took Lakers legend Kobe Bryant as her inspiration, wearing his jersey throughout her 2020 US Open campaign. Kobe was killed along with his daughter Gianna and several others in a helicopter crash earlier this year. The death came as a shock to the entire world, with respect and tributes pouring in from all corners of the world for the 5-time NBA champion.
In a post-match press conference after her victory at Arthur Ashe, she said, “I just want to be the type of person that he thought I was going to be. He thought I was going to be great, so hopefully, I will be great in the future.”
