Thomas Tuchel is confident that Kai Havertz will come through for Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel has thrown his support behind Havertz even though his performances haven't been up to the mark for Chelsea.

The summer arrivals, Werner and Havertz are yet to hit the ground running at Chelsea

Chelsea will be taking on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday. The Blues are yet to taste defeat in the hands of new boss Thomas Tuchel and will be looking to continue the same.

With Liverpool losing to Leicester City in the weekend, Chelsea have the chance to get ahead of the defending champions and find themselves with a spot in the top four.

Kai Havertz hasn’t to lived up to expectations at Chelsea so far

Thiago Silva is absent for the match against Newcastle United and there’s no update on when he will be back. The Brazilian defender faced an injury during the match against Tottenham Hotspur and was replaced by Danish international Andreas Christensen. It looks like Silva will be out for some time.

Striker Timo Werner is raring to go says Thomas Tuchel. Werner grabbed an assist in the last Premier League game against Sheffield United and wok Chelsea the winning penalty. He will be hungry to find himself back on the scoresheet.

Thomas Tuchel has said that he fully believes in Kai Havertz’s ability and is confident about the German international. Havertz had a tough time under Frank Lampard and has failed to make any impact since his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

I’m pretty sure we will see him [the Bayer Leverkusen Havertz],” Tuchel said ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Newcastle on Monday night.

“It takes its time and there is no short answer. If there was one I’d clearly go and talk to him about that to bring out his full potential. What we know, what we can rely on, is that all this potential is in him.”
