PV Sindhu

Ace shuttler Pusarla Venkata Sindhu aka PV Sindhu has successfully managed to bring her second overall Olympics medal. The 26-year-old beat China’s He Bingjiao in the bronze medal clash on Sunday at the Tokyo Games. Sindhu registered a victory of 21-13, 21-15 in straight sets to mark India’s third medal at Tokyo 2020.

After losing her semi-final match against the world number one Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei, Sindhu came back strong today against Bingjiao. India’s silver medalist from the 2016 Rio Games brought her ‘A’ game against the Chinese opponent. With this iconic medal, she also became the second Indian athlete (after Sushil Kumar – wrestling) to bring two Olympics medals. Moreover, she became the first Indian female to breach this special brace at the Games.
