Republic of Korea vs Turkey Match Preview

Republic of Korea or as we call them South Korea haven’t been a clinical side at all during the group stages. They lost convincingly to the higher ranked teams in their group, i.e., Brazil and Serbia, with the scoreline reading 0-3. Two out of the other three matches that South Korea won went into the decider and barring the victory against Kenya, they have really toiled hard. As a result, they could muster only a total of 7 points from 5 matches but did just enough to make it to the last-eight stage.

On the other hand, Turkey have looked a far more competitive side and due to this, they gained 9 points from 5 matches, with 3 wins and 2 losses. Turkey demolished China and Argentina 3-0, edged out the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) 3-2, gave a tough fight to the table-toppers USA before going down 2-3 and managed to eke out a set before losing 1-3 against Italy. These scores in all the games clearly show that Turkey had a better outing in the group stage as compared to South Korea.

Republic of Korea vs Turkey Match Prediction

Though the knockout matches are different ball-game altogether, still there is a major impact of the previous form that a team is carrying, and based on this factor, Turkey look the favourites to become the first team to make it to the semifinals. South Korea have the ability to challenge Turkey, but their performance in the preliminary stage was not encouraging. So, the prediction for the match is a 3-1 scoreline in the favour of Turkey.
