Tottenham Hotspur went up against West Ham United at home in the quarterfinal fixture of the EFL Cup as the two sides battled for the squad in the semi-finals, the visitors posed a lot of questions for the home side, but the Spurs managed to get a win past the Hammers tonight in an exciting 2-1 win.

Hugo Lloris (6/10): Lloris was crucial for the home side between the posts as he made some key saves for his team keeping them in the game.

Davinson Sánchez (6/10): Sanchez should be happy with his performance tonight. He made some good tackles in the defense while seldomly contributing with offensive moves in the attacking third.

Eric Dier (6.5/10): Dier had a decent outing tonight against the hammers, he made some key interceptions for his side thwarting West Ham from scoring the much-needed equalizer.

Ben Davies (5.5/10): Davies was good on defense tonight. He made some very good interceptions for his side. He did have his own moments dribbling past the opposition to create chances for his team.

Matt Doherty (4.5/10): Doherty was average against West Ham tonight compared to his teammates. He did try to create space for himself but was easily exploited by Rice and Soucek.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (6.5/10): Pierre-Emile was a very crucial part for the Tottenham midfield tonight as he controlled the flow of the game to a certain extent. He produced some great long balls that Spurs failed to convert.

Oliver Skipp (6.5/10): Skipp was by far the best player in the midfield tonight. He was on-point with tackles, interceptions, and passing. He played a very important role in the Tottenham victory tonight.

Sergio Reguilón (6.5/10): Reguilon made some great runs into the attacking third, making constant moves into the attacking third.

Lucas Moura (7.5/10): Moura was brilliant tonight. He was a constant threat for the West Ham defense and maintained his presence in the attacking third. Spurs were in the lead of the game for the majority of the fixture. 

Harry Kane (6/10): The star striker seemed missing the x-factor tonight as he missed some opportunities to give his side a bigger lead. Conte will definitely expect better from his star in the upcoming games.

Steven Bergwijn (7/10): Bergwijn had great duties tonight in the absence of Son. He was great in the attacking third creating chances for his side and scored in the 29th minute to open up the scoreline.


Heung-Son Ming (6/10): Son came in the second half of the game and was quick to leave his mark on the fixture, He quickly linked up with Harry Kane to pose relentless attacks against Areola.

Harry Winks (5.5/10): Winks was decent tonight coming in as a substitute, he was quick to make his presence known in the attacking third to create troubles for the West Ham defenders.

Dele Alli (5/10): Dele Alli came in for the final fifteen minutes of the game and didn’t have many contributions for his side. He had a few good touches but nothing noteworthy.

Alphonse Areola (5/10): Areola had a very busy day between the posts tonight as Spurs were constant with their attacks and kept challenging the keeper. He made some good saves but conceded twice which was the final story after the end of the final whistle.

Ben Johnson (4.5/10): Ben Johnson worked hard tonight as he was on the run for most of the game chasing after Lucas Moura who had no plans for rest tonight, The defender did get some good tackles in but it wasn’t enough from his side.

Craig Dawson (6/10): Dawson was decent tonight in the defense, he made some great saves in the form of clearances and interceptions for his side that kept them in the game. He was strong in his half trying to trap down attackers around the flanks.

Issa Diop (5/10): Diop had a decent outing away from home, he made a few decent moves in the attacking third which didn’t pay off in the end. He did make a few good steals in the midfield stopping Tottenham at a counter opportunity.

Harrison Ashby (4.5/10): Ashby was a little out of composure tonight and left his side vulnerable on occasions. He did a few interceptions in, but that was all from his side.

Arthur Masuaku (6/10): Masuaku had a decent day tonight against Tottenham, he made some good moves from the side that allowed West Ham to create some chances in the attacking third, He was good on defensive duties as well, constantly engaged with attackers tussling over the ball.

Tomáš Souček (6/10): Soucek was one of the reasons that West Ham were able to hold Tottenham off for a long time during the whole game in the second half. The midfielder was on point with his interceptions and made some great tackles to save the Hammers from dangerous situations.

Declan Rice (5.5/10): The West Ham skipper wasn’t up to the mark tonight on the big occasion. While he did have a decent outing, both him and his manager will not be satisfied with the loss and the exit from the Carabao Cup. He made some good moves in the attacking third and had some good shots at goal but Lloris was almost impenetrable tonight.

Jarrod Bowen (5.5/10): Bowen scored the only goal for the hammers to equalize in the first half, but that went away very quickly with Lucas Moura scoring in the next two minutes. Bowen tried his best to find the second equalizer but the Tottenham defense were quick to subdue him in the second half of the game.

Manuel Lanzini (6.5/10): Lanzini tried his best to control the attacking third tonight, it wouldn’t be wrong to say he was the best man on the pitch tonight for the hammers in the game. He made some great link-up plays with Jarrod Bowen and some crucial runs into the attacking third.

Nikola Vlašić (4.5/10): Vlasic failed to leave a mark on the fixture tonight as the striker failed to convert multiple chances that could have provided West Ham with the much-needed goal.While he did get an assist, he was subbed off in the second half for Benrahama.


Said Benrahama (4.5/10): Benrahama was subbed in to provide West Ham the much-needed equalizer in the second half, but the player failed to convert at a few opportunities and will definitely be annoyed with his performance.

Pablo Fornals (5/10): Fornals was subbed in during the second half and was decent in the midfield. He did have a few 1v1 situations but could not get past his opponents to create chances for his side.
