The mixed doubles duo of Ashwini Ponnapa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy beat the Denmark Open 2020 winners Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich in an incredible three-setter. The duo won the hard-fought first game 22-20 before dropping the second game 14-21. In the third game, they made a comeback, reduced errors and took the game 21-16 to get into the quarterfinals.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty came up with a spectacular performance upsetting the seventh seeds. The promising Indian duo beat Choi Solgyu and Seo Seung Jae in straight sets 21-18, 23-21.

The Rio Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu secured a quarter final berth as she thumped Kisona Selvaduray 21-10 21-12.
