Club Brugge

Simon Mignolet (GK) (7/10): Mignolet kept the shape of his defence tight and made some good saves to deny PSG.

Eduard Sobol (8/10): Sobol was on top form throughout the game and made some key crosses for his side.

Éder Balanta (6/10): Balanta was struggling to win the balls back in the midfield and could have done better.

Stanley Nsoki (8/10): Nsoki was a rock at the back and never allowed the PSG attacking line-up any liberty upfront.

Jack Hendry (7/10): Hendry partnered with Nsoki in the central defence and was a key figure in Brugge’s defensive lines as well.

Noa Lang (8/10): Noa Lang caused all sorts of problems down the left for PSG with his sheer pace and trickery.

Kamal Sowah (6/10): Sowah had a decent game and made some key crosses into the box.

Hans Vanaken © (8/10): Vanaken scored the only goal for Brugge and was a towering figure upfront.

Mats Rits (7/10): Rits played the role of a supporting midfielder and made some key passes to open up the PSG defence.

Clinton Mata (6/10): Mata had a decent game on the defensive side of things but struggled to help his side in attack.

Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi failed to impress.

Keylor Navas (GK) (8/10): Navas was constantly tested throughout the game and he made some incredible saves to keep Paris Saint-Germain in the game.

Achraf Hakimi (6/10): Hakimi was taken on a ride on the wings and had a forgettable night of football for Paris Saint-Germain.

Presnel Kimpembe (7/10): Kimpembe partnered Marquinhos at the back and was disciplined.

Marquinhos © (7/10): Marquinhos did not have a decent game but managed to keep the Brugge strikers at bay.

Kylian Mbappé (6/10): Mbappe was highly individual in his approach and was not played as a team man. He was subbed early due to an injury.

Leandro Paredes (6/10): Paredes struggled to break the lines of the Brugge half and was subbed off early by Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochhetino.

Neymar (5/10): Neymar showed his trickery and skills but to no possible outcome. He created space and time for himself to work his way inside the opposition box on occasions but never managed to make that decisive final pass.

Georginio Wijnaldum (6/10): Wijnaldum failed to make the most out of it in the Paris Saint-Germain midfield and was second-best in several aerial and grounded duels.

Ander Herrera (8/10): The Spanish midfielder scored the solitary goal for PSG and was a constant threat for Brugge. Herrera came close to scoring on several occasions in the second half as well and was arguably Paris Saint-Germain’s best player on the pitch.

Abdou Diallo (6/10): Diallo had a tough time dealing with the Brugge wingers and was often caught off the mark.

Lionel Messi (7/10): A subdued Messi off large as the Argentine made some key openings but was never at the top of his game. Messi showed glimpses of his masterclass but never managed to toy with the Brugge defenders as he usually does.

Substitutes:

Julian Draxler (6/10): Draxler came up early in the second half and managed to hold on to the ball a lot more for PSG than in the first half. Draxler created a number of opportunities for the team but was not clinical enough.

Nuno Mendes (N/A)

Danilo Pereira (6/10): Pereira was asked to lead the PSG midfield but he struggled to keep away from the Brugge defensive midfielders.

Mauro Icardi (6/10): Icardi had some decent scoring opportunities but he was not confident enough to go for the final shots. The Argentine looked out of form going in attack and was not at the best of forms.
