UEFA Champions League: AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid player ratings as Atletico Madrid snatch late win

Atletico Madrid defeated AC Milan 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night in a thrilling match. Antoine Griezmann found the equaliser for Atletico Madrid in the 84th minute before Luis Suarez converted a penalty in added time. AC Milan had scored early though Rafael Leao but were down to ten men with Frank Kessie getting a second yellow card.

16 Mike Maignan (6/10)- The French goalkeeper made some decent saves throughout the match but was beaten in quick succession in the end.

13 Alessio Romagnoli (6/10)- Not the finest performance from the Italian centre back who will be disappointed with the late goals conceded.

19 Theo Hernández (6/10)- Theo Hernandez was good defensively but given his reputation would have wanted to attack more.

10 Brahim Díaz (7/10) – The number 10 for AC Milan struck a strong shot in the first half with his left foot which was saved in the bottom right corner. Moreover he got the assist for the first goal.

79 Franck Kessié (5/10) – An absolutely horrible game for Kessie of AC Milan who got sent off following his second yellow card in the 29th minute.

4 Ismaël Bennacer (6/10)- An average performance from Bennacer who could’ve done more if Kessie was not sent off.

12 Ante Rebic (7/10)- The forward got into some good positions early on and had a shot blocked after the through ball by Brahim Diaz.

17 Rafael Leão (8/10)- Leao registered the first goal for AC Milan following a corner with his shot into the left of the box from the centre.

56 Alexis Saelemaekers (7/10)- Alexis played on the right hand of Brahim Dia tonight and was combining well with him going forward.

Olivier Giroud (6/10)- The former Chelsea striker came on in place of the goalscorer Rafael Leao.

22 Mario Hermoso (6/10) – The left back for Atletico Madrid was good in attacking positions but was found lacking in the defence.

23 Kieran Trippier (5/10)- The English man didn’t have much role to play in tonight’s game and was substituted by Joao Felix.

14 Marcos Llorente (7/10)- The Spanish international was constantly finding space to thread in some good through balls and crosses into the box.

9 Luis Suárez (8/10)- Depsite all the chances that Luis Suarez missed throughout the game he stepped up when needed the most. A fantastic penalty to hand Atletico Madrid the win.

10 Ángel Correa(7/10)- The number 10 will be disappointed with missing a great opportunity in the dying minutes of the first half with a right footed shot which went past the goal.

Renan Lodi (8/10)- The Brazilian replaced Hermoso on the left and was immediately into the action and had a shot blocked. He delivered several crosses into the box and the assist for Antoine Griezmann.

Rodrigo De Paul (7/10)- The Argentine pocket dynamite was again very bright tonight and made an instant impact after coming on.

Joao Felix (7/10)- The youngster came on for Kieran Trippier in the first half and produced a fine cross for Suarez which the striker missed.

Antoine Griezmann (8/10)- Back in Atletico Madrid colors and back on the scoresheet with a late equaliser for Diego Simeone’s men.
