UEFA Champions League: FC Porto vs Liverpool player ratings as Reds register a comprehensive win in Portugal

Liverpool humiliated FC Porto as they put five past them to top the group. Roberto Firmino scored his brace after coming on as a substitute.

Liverpool put five past FC Porto at Estadio do Dragao to complete a comfortable win over the Portugal side. Mohamed Salah opened the goal galore on the 18th-minute mark with a close-range finish. Sadio Mane extended their lead just before the break scoring a tap in from James Milner’s delivery. Liverpool controlled the game in every department and started the second half with a view to continuing their dominance. Mo Salah got his second on the 60th-minute mark while Roberto Firminoscored a brace after coming on from the bench to complete the Porto humiliation.

Liverpool put forth an amazing attacking display in Portugal as they cruised past Porto by 5-1. The victory means Liverpool top their group and go into the Man City game at the weekend with a brimful of confidence.

The Porto keeper misjudged the delivery by James Milner from the right flank which led to the Sadio Mane goal. Cost Lost the ball hit by Curtis Jones which fell onto the feet of Mo Salah for his first goal of the night. Rushed forward in order to grab the ball but Firmino smartly played the ball into the net taking the benefit of GK coming forward.

Kept the hold of the ball well at times to build the things up from the back. However, Sadio Mane and Curtis Jones were frightening from the left flank and caused him all sorts of problems defensively.

Lost the possession quite a few times early in the game. However, as the game progressed gained some stability in the rearguard. However, it was never going to be an easy outing for the defender as he was against in-form Liverpool attackers

Made some key interceptions to keep his side in the game. He won a majority of his ground duels but could not do anything to prevent the goals.

The left-back was a very lively figure from the left flank as he surged forward many times to contribute to the attack. He provided three key passes and create two big chances.

The 35-year-old is always relentless for Liverpool and he put in the leader’s performance today. He also provided an assist for Mane’s goal.

Curtis Jones 8/10

The 20-year-old midfielder was a menace for Porto. He provided two assists and had a brilliant game at Porto. He had three shots on target and played a big part in the attack.

Shielded the defense well at times to prevent the attacks. His passing was spot on at times and was a key figure in the middle of the park.
