Manchester City have taken the lead on the night and through Riyadh Mahrez. The winger scored his second goal in as many games to extend Manchester City’s lead to 2 goals.
Paris, however should not get bogged down as they needed 2 goals anyway to make their way back into the tie. Paris dominated the opening 10 minutes but a quick counter from City caught out the previous year’s finalists.
Mahrez also scored the second goal in the first leg in Paris
Paris had a penalty kick ruled out by VAR inside the first 10 minutes of the match after the referee consulted the the pitch side monitor. The ball had not struck Zinchenko’s arm and it was off his shoulder.
The goal started with an excellent run down the left-flank by Aleksander Zinchenko who then squared the ball for De Bruyne. The Belgium’s first time shot was blocked and Mahrez picked up the ball in an acute angle.
His shot slipped through the legs of Keylor Navas to give City the lead on the night and a two goal lead overall in aggregate.
