UEFA Champions League: Wolfsburg vs RB Salzburg player ratings as Wolfsburg claim a 2-1 win

Wolfsburg lit up the Volkswagen Arena as they bagged a thrilling win against RB Salzburg. Ridle Baku’s opening goal in the third minute gave Wolfsburg the perfect start to the match. However, a equaliser by Maximilian Wöber sealed the deal for RB Salzburg for the first-half to read 1-1.

In the 60th minute, Lukas Nmecha scored a magnificent goal and put RB Salzburg in front to give them a brilliant lead in the match. In the end, they walked away with a crucial 2-1 win and got themselves those three deserved points.

Here are the player ratings for the match between Wolfsburg and RB Salzburg :

Wolfsburg

Koen Casteels (GK) (7/10) : Casteels made some brilliant saves throughout the course of the game and he made as many as four brilliant saves from inside the box and helped Wolfsburg keep the scoreline to 2-1 and help his team win points.

Maxence Lacroix (6.9/10) : Maxence made some valuable clearences for Wolfsburg and helped the defence on multiple occasions. He did lose possession on many occasions but he made up for it in other ways.

Josuha Guilavogui (7.1/10) : Joshua was undoubtedly one of the best defenders for Wolfsburg. He made as many as eleven clearences and was really good with tackles, interceptions and ground duels.

John Brooks (6.9/10) : John Brooks did an exceptional job with making clearences as well as was very quick with his feet in defence to win several tackles and interceptions.

Ridle Baku (7.5/10) : Ridle Baku was one of the most prolific players in the game. He scored the opening goal of the match for Wolfsburg in the 3rd minute and brought them in the lead.

Aster Vranckx (6.7/10) : Aster had just the one shot on target and he was denied the opportunity by the keeper. He did well with ground duels but kept losing possession on multiple occasions.

Maximilian Arnold (7.3/10) : Maximilian beautifully assisted Lukas Nmecha to get the winning goal of the match in the 60th minute. Apart from that, Maximilian had a brilliant time winning ground duels and making successful tackles.

Paulo Otávio Rosa Silva (6.4/10) : A very poor performance by Paulo Silva. He lost possession on as many as 23 occasions and out of his 17 attempts, he just managed to win 8 ground duels. He had a poor passing percentage as well which summed to be around 59%.

Lukas Nmecha (7/10) : In the 60th minute, Lukas scored the winning goal of the match courtesy of a brilliant assist by Maximilian Arnold. Lukas already had missed out on a big goal scoring opportunity but didn’t fail to capitalise on second chance.

Wout Weghorst (6.4/10) : Weghorst too had a disappointing game as he barely made an impactful performance. He was good with Aerial duels but failed miserably at ground duels and had a passing accuracy of mere 57%.

Yannick Gerhardt (7.4/10) : Yannick was brilliant with his gameplay and helped provide with a beautiful assist to Ridle to get them their opening goal in fhe 3rd minute of the game.

Philipp Köhn (GK) (6.2/10) : The RB Salzburg goalkeeper did all his best to stop the goals from coming in but he did end up conceding two goals and had a rough day with the gloves.

Rasmus Kristensen (7.4/10) : Rasmus did a brilliant job at winning tackles as he won one too many of them while also doing an excellent job at winning ground duels and keeping the ball away from defence. He also had an on target attempt at goal but denied by the keeper.

Jérôme Onguéné (6.7/10) : Jérôme was really good with interceptions but he lost possession on one too many occasions.

Maximilian Wöber (7.8/10) : Maximilian Wöber scored a brilliant equaliser for RB Salzburg in the 30th minute and made sure to keep his team in front. He was really good at tackles and his ground duels track record speaks for itself.

Andreas Ulmer (5.6/10) : Out of his nine ground duel attempts, he barely won one duel and he lost possession on as many as 27 occasions. He had a terrible match as his passing accuracy was mere 61%.

Mohamed Camara (7.3/10) : Mohamed Camara made some really good interceptions for his side while also having a passing accuracy of 88%.

Nicolas Seiwald (7.3/10) : Nicolas had a good on target attempt but he was denied the opportunity by the keeper. However, he lost possession on as many as eighteen occasions.

Brenden Aaronson (6.9/10) : Brenden Aaronson had a passing accuracy of 77% and he won almost every ground duel he was a part of. Although he lost possession on as many as 21 occasions.

Luka Sučić (7/10) : A pretty average game for Luka Sučić. He wasn’t afraid to take on aerial and ground duels and he won almost each attempt he made.

Noah Okafor (6.5/10) : Noah had a good chance at goal but he missed out on a big goal scoring opportunity. However, he failed miserably at aerial and ground duels and lost possession on 17 occasions.

Karim Adeyemi (5.7/10) : Karim missed out on as many as two big goal scoring chances which cost his team a lot.
