UEFA Europa League: Leicester City vs Legia Warsaw player ratings as Leicester drill 3 past Legia Warsaw at home

Leicester City vs Legia Warsaw: King Power Stadium, the home for Leicester City saw an exhilarating contest of football between Leicester City and Legia Warsaw for their UEFA Europa League fixture.

The first half of the encounter involved a lot of dramatic pauses for both the teams. Patson Daka scored the opening goal of the match for Leicester City in the 11th minute and brought in the 1-0 lead. It was doubled ten minutes later by none other than James Maddison.

However, after a fantastic penalty save, Filip Mladenović pulled one back in for Legia Warsaw. The goals didn’t stop pouring in as Wilfried Ndidi scored the third goal of the game for Leicester City and the two teams walked into second-half with a 3-1 scoreline.

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) (7.4/10) : A brilliant night indeed for Kasper Schmeichel with the gloves. He made some brilliant saves and topped all of them with the mind-blowing penalty save. However, he conceded a tap in to ruin his clean sheet.

Timothy Castagne (6.7/10) : Castagne made some really good clearences and tackles in defence while using his smart skill work to also end up winning ground duels.

Daniel Amartey (7/10) : Amartey had a brilliant passing accuracy of approximately 93% in the game and made some wonderful passes to keep the ball moving. He made some good clearances and tackles to keep their side of the field clear.

Çağlar Söyüncü (7/10) : Söyüncü coordinated well with the other defenders to ensure that the ball stays away from the Leicester goal. He made some good attempts to clear the box and stood tall to ensure no forward went through.

Luke Thomas (7.2/10) : One of the quickest of the lot for Leicester. He intercepted the ball on as many as four occasions and won four tackles. He was super quick with his feet and courtesy of his skills, he won plenty of ground duels.

Boubakary Soumaré (6.5/10) : Just the 62 minutes of gameplay for Boubakary Soumaré. He did a fine job jn his stint. He made some good passes, however, he failed to win any kind of ground duel he challenged.

Wilfred Ndidi (6.9/10) : Ndidi had a wonderful game for Leicester City. He scored their third goal of the game after having received a brilliant assist by James Maddison. Apart from that he made a short mistake by giving away a penalty which ruined the clean sheet.

James Maddison (8.2/10) : Maddison had done a lot in the 63 minutes he got to play. He doubled the lead for Leicester City in the 21st minute and later assisted the third goal of the match. An excellent performance by the forward.

Harvey Barnes (7.2/10) : Barnes did a brilliant job in the outfield. He assisted Patson Daka really well who took the ball in and finished it in the back of the net. Harvey himself had multiple occasions to attempt at goal but couldn’t convert unfortunately.

Patson Daka (7.4/10) : Patson Daka did a fine job in the 85 minutes he played for Leicester City. Courtesy of a brilliant assist by Harvey Barnes, Daka scored the opening goal of the match in the 11th minute and brought in the lead.

Ademola Lookman (7/10) : Lookman might have not shined with his own foot at goal but he certainly made a valuable assist that helped James Maddison double the lead in the 21st minute.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (7/10) : In his short stint he gave plenty of accurate long balls and also had a shy at goal. Unfortunately, he was off target on attempt.

Cezary Miszta (GK) (6.2/10) : Not the best of games for Cezary with the gloves as he conceded as many as three goals which certainly will affect his confidence for upcoming matches.

Mattias Johansson (6.1/10) : Mattias got just the 45 minutes of gameplay in the match. He did a decent job at defending but he barely had any touches on the ball. Before he could make an impact to the game, he was substituted. Although, he did seem out of shape in the first half.

Mateusz Wieteska (6.9/10) : Mateusz gave his all in while he was defending. He made three crucial clearences and blocked three incoming shots while gathered possession with three valuable interceptions. However, he couldn’t stop the goals that came in.

Artur Jędrzejczyk (6.2/10) : The captain had a rough night. He did a decent job at defending but he lost posession of the ball on one too many occasions.

Yuri Ribeiro (6.9/10) : Yuri had a shy at goal but was off target on attempt. However, that wasn’t the best game for him as he lost possession on as many as eighteen occasions.

André Martins (6.3/10) : Martins did a fine job by contributing in whatever way possible for his team. He made a couple of good long balls and a couple of good ground duel wins but failed to impact the game in a positive manner.

Bartosz Slisz (6.9/10) : Bartosz made a good run to get to the goal and make his stop at Kasper but it was rather well received and denied opportunity. He did win quite a few ground duels.

Filip Mladenović (7.2/10) : Before being subbed in the 71st minute, Filip had a brilliant game. He was the lone warrior who pulled a goal back in for Legia Warsaw after the Leicester City keeper saved a brilliant penalty. He did a decent job at ground duels and had a decent game overall.

Ernest Muçi (6.3/10) : A rather underperforming game for Ernest as he couldn’t impact the game playing forward, neither were any opportunities created for goal.

Mahir Emreli (6/10) : Worst possible games for Mahir Emreli as he failed to do anything possible for Legia Warsaw. He had multiple attempts at goal but he failed to convert any and he also missed a penalty to top it all.

Luquinhas (6.9/10) : Luquinhas had a brilliant attempt at goal but while he tried to finish, he went off target. Although he was the least hesitant to take on the players for ground duels and he went on to win quite a few of them.
