UFC 260 Main Event : Francis Ngannou steamrolls Stipe Miocic to become the new heavyweight champion!

A short left hook from Francis Ngannou clinched him the title.

One of the biggest matches of the year – Stipe Miocic, the heavyweight champ took on Francis Ngannou in a rematch, for the heavyweight title. Ngannou was coming off a massive four-fight win streak, wherein he knocked out all his opponents in the very first round. Miocic was coming off a trilogy bout against Daniel Cormier, winning it 2-1, after losing the first.

Miocic was the underdog, just like he was during their first match at UFC 220. ‘The Predator’ was the favourite with betting odds of -135.

Round 1 :

Beautiful low kick from Ngannou began the fight. Body shot from Ngannou. Huge right hand from Ngannou landed clean. Stipe Miocic attempted a takedown, but was excellently defended by Ngannou. And then Ngannou grounded Miocic and landed a few punches. Huge leg kick from Ngannou. Only a few low kicks from Stipe. Ngannou kept Stipe in check with his jabs. No first round KO win for Ngannou! 10-9 Ngannou

Round 2 :

Stipe was trying to get back into the fight. Just seconds into the round, he was rocked by a massive punch from Ngannou. Miocic once he got back up, tried to back himself up. But he was caught by a short left hook and it was lights out. And new!!!!

Winner : Francis Ngannou def. Stipe Miocic via knockout (punches) – Round 2, 0:52 – to win heavyweight title
