UFC 265’s fight card is getting more exciting as the promotion is adding some really good fights to this fight card. The latest addition to this is the Welterweight contest between the number 6th ranked Welterweight fighter, Michael Chiesa and number 5th ranked fighter, Vicente Luque.
This news was initially reported by Cageside Press and later a source confirmed it to MMA Mania. Vicente Luque is coming into this fight riding a consecutive win streak of three fights, with his latest win coming against former UFC Welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley at UFC 260.
Luque is one of the most rapidly rising contenders in the Welterweight division, who has only lost two fights in the promotion since his UFC debut. His last loss came against Stephen Thompson at UFC 244, and Vicente Luque is undefeated since that loss.
Michael Chiesa also found his groove, since he returned back to the Welterweight division at UFC 232 against Carlos Condit. Chiesa is coming into this fight riding a four-fight win streak with his latest win coming against Neil Magny on UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs Magny.
Chiesa is the winner of ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Live Finale’ and he holds notable victories over Beneil Dariush, Al Iaquinta, and Rafael Dos Anjos. A win in this fight can present both of these welterweights to move an inch closer to the title shot at the already stacked Welterweight division.
