UFC’s undefeated strawweight fighter, Tatiana Suarez was scheduled to take on women’s flyweight veteran Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 266. Suarez now has been forced to withdraw from the pay-per-view event due to injury. It has been more than two years since Tatiana has fought in the octagon. Several injuries have caused the exciting fighter to lay off from fighting. Her comeback fight against a veteran like Modafferi was very much anticipated given the strawweight’s undefeated run.

Since Tatiana cannot make it to the fight, the promotion is looking to find Roxanne a new opponent and not scrap the whole fight from the card. UFC 266 takes place on September 25th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card is headlined by the stunning featherweight title bout of Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega.

Tatiana revealed the reason for withdrawing from the fight on her Instagram account. “I sustained a very bad knee injury and now I need surgery. I can’t believe it’s my reality, but it is, and when they do a story on me, it’s gonna be the most kick-ass story out there. Because when I make my comeback, it’s gonna be amazing, and I can’t wait for it,” said Tatiana on her social media.

Suarez was in the same situation two years ago which put a halt to her amazing winning streak. She last fought in the UFC against Nina Nunes at UFC 238 where she won the fight via decision. She has an amazing record of 9-0-0 in her career and is yet to be scathed. As far as her opponent Modafferi, she has a record of 25-19-0 and is looking to bounce back into the winning charts after he lost to Viviane Araujo.
