“I wake up every day with revenge and vengeance on my mind,” Colby Covington is beyond ambitious to defeat Kamaru Usman at UFC 268

At UFC 268, we probably would see a super rivalry settle the score for once when reigning, defending UFC Welterweight champion “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman will be on his way to defend his title for the fifth consecutive time, in a rematch against arch-nemesis “Chaos” Colby Covington.

Secondly, it is taking place in the mecca of all sporting events, The Madison Square Garden. But wait, there’s more! There’s something about “Chaos” that feels he will bring something different to the table this time. Covington and the champ Usman ran back for the first time in December of 2019 at UFC 245, headlining the then main event. “The Nigerian Nightmare” then defeated Covington via fifth-round TKO in what was also considered to be one of the most competitive title fights ever. Since then, Usman has become the embodiment of a pound-for-pound great with the most title defenses amongst all the current champions on the UFC roster.

Then comes Covington, who has fought only once last year and not much can be said about his skills improving since he beat Tyron Woodley in his declining period. So in almost two years, we are going to see Covington get back into the tough pools of the welterweight division by seeing him running into Usman. However, his last few months have been all about engaging in media questions and there seems to be an aura of a new “Chaos.”

Over and all, Covington is convinced and strongly convincing others through his interviews that his stars are aligned now and that his training camp disputes are settled once and for all after leaving American Top Team where he used to train with former teammates and now personal rivals Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier. Since that incident, Covington is training at MMA masters.

What Covington wants to show us can only be seen in the fight night and it’s safe to say we all are excited about the fight.
