Petr Yan was crowned as the new interim bantamweight champion after beating Cory Sandhagen at the co-main event of UFC 267. Aljamain Sterling was supposed to face Yan but he had to pull out from the fight due to lingering health issues.

According to Yan, Sterling is living on borrowed time, and soon he will get inside the octagon with him and unify the belt by beating him for sure. Sterling too can’t wait to get this rematch too, he ruled out any speculation that he won’t ever get back inside the octagon.

Former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw claimed Sterling would never come back from his injury, and he should be next in line for the title, talking to Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he lashed out at TJ for issuing such statement, he said, “F*ck T.J. F*ck T.J. Let T.J. wait. That b*tch-ass motherf*cker can wait, just like that. The guy’s a f*cking cheater. He had a close fight.”

He waited two years already, he can wait another couple months,” Aljamain Sterling on TJ Dillashaw

He further went on to talk about Dillashaw, and claimed his victory against Cory Sandhagen meant nothing, he said, “A lot of people still don’t even think he won the fight by hugging another man by the waist. At least I actually go for submissions. I think there’s people that deserve to unify the belts that have the belts. Am I crazy? How do you not unify the belts? That makes no sense.”

“Let T.J. wait, and it’s not my fault he got his knee ripped off in that fight with Sandhagen. That’s on him, so it is what it is. He’s got to wait, just like everyone else has to wait their turn. He waited two years already, right? He can wait another couple months.”
