Beneil Dariush states he is better than Islam Makhachev, and he’s “gonna change a lot of people’s perspective” in their fight

Beneil Dariush is hell-bent on dominating Islam Makhachev in their fight, he says he will change a lot of people's perspectives in this one.

Beneil Dariush

Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev are all set to face each other in February 2022. This is a classic wrestler vs wrestler matchup, and both of them are coming in this one with a massive win streak (Beneil-7 and Islam-9) and it would be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Islam is Khabib Nurmagomedov’s training part, and many believe he is the next lightweight champion, he has proved his worth every time he has stepped inside the octagon, but Beneil is not afraid to fight him, and he is annoyed by the fact that people aren’t recognizing him as a real threat.

Talking to Brett Okamoto from ESPN, he said, “I think he has very good skills, I think he has all the tools, and I recognize that, that’s what makes it even more exciting I recognize that he does have the tools but what frustrates me, at least in my mind it’s not like something like I’m super frustrated over. It frustrated me because I have all those tools too like I have all those abilities, everything he could do I could do just as well and I believe I have to do better.”

Tony Ferguson vs Beneil Dariush

Beneil outclassed Tony Ferguson in their fight, and he looked better than ever, Beneil’s title contention is long due, and he plans on making a statement against Islam, he said, “They talk about him like he’s the guy, I’m telling you man you guys are going to soon recognize I’m the guy too so like we’ll see, we’ll see how it goes February and I’m gonna change a lot of people’s perspective.”

Beneil understands that they have a similar style, and he will try to impose his will on him, Dariush is ready for whatever comes, and he is looking forward to it, “One of the things I like about this fight is, we, in a lot of ways merit each other. He’s a southpaw, I think he’s a little bit taller than me, he does a lot of faints, gets a lot of takedowns, pressures guys and breaks people. I like doing all of that!… I just think it’s gonna be a great fight. It’s gonna be an opportunity for us to grow, so I’m looking forward to it,” he concluded.
