Beneil Dariush is set to take on Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 262. The fight will be for three rounds, since the pair aren’t vying for the title. Dariush will be looking forward to keeping his winning momentum going and see off the ‘probably-fading’ Tony Ferguson.

The weigh-ins for the event began just a while before. Ferguson made weight, coming in at 156 pounds. ‘El Cucuy’ was also pretty early to the weigh-ins, just like Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira were. But, it was Dariush who had a tough time making weight.

Beneil Dariush comes back a while later and weighs in successfully!

On the first attempt, Dariush came in at 157 pounds, one pound above the lightweight limit. He then weighed in once again, this time with his shorts off. However, he still wasn’t able to hit the 156 mark, as he came in at 156.5 in the second attempt. Dariush was given an hour to comeback and weigh-in successfully, even as he looked confused when he left the stage.

Dariush came back a while later, looking a bit drained. However, he did hit the scales successfully at 156lbs, as the people present applauded the Iranian. The fight will go ahead!

Dariush is currently riding a 6-fight win streak, and hasn’t lost in more than 3 years. His last loss came against Alexander Hernandez in March 2018, after a massive knockout punch from the ‘Great’.

Tony Ferguson on the other hand, will be looking forward to preventing his two-fight skid from worsening further. He has been in the worst form of his life, but since his loss to Oliveira at UFC 256, he has stepped up his training, dieting. What’s more? He even hired legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach, who will be by his corner at UFC 262.
