“He thinks he is like a God” Bruno Silva explains why he admires Robert Whittaker over UFC champ Israel Adesanya

Bruno Silva vs Israel Adesanya

Bruno Silva is one hell of a prospect coming into the UFC, the middleweight contender has won all 2 of his fights in the promotion via record, advancing with an overall MMA record of 21 wins and just 6 losses. His last win came at UFC Vegas 40 against Andrew Sanchez. Therefore, with a noticeable entry into the company and the division, Silva had something to say about the top contenders, particularly the middleweight champion.

Silva explained himself as to why he admires Robert Whittaker more than Israel Adesanya as a fighter, despite the fact that the latter won over the former via knockout to win the UFC middleweight championship. Silva firmly believes that Adesanya has some form of God-complex psychologically that doesn’t settle well with Silva himself.

Here’s what Bruno Silva had to say about Robert Whittaker, Israel Adesanya

In an interview by Andrew Whitelaw for SportsKeeda, he said, “I admire the style of [Robert] Whittaker and believe Robert will win the fight against [Israel] Adesanya,” says Silva. “I don’t like the way Israel thinks he’s like a God or something like that. And for me, this division is the (hardest) division in the whole UFC and Israel needs to work a lot.”

For Bruno, he doesn’t believe Adesanya’s comparison with Anderson Silva to be completely true. “Israel is not a big name like people say. He has a lot of resemblance to Anderson Silva. He’s an excellent fighter, yes. But when he lost his fight (at light heavyweight) he showed… He doesn’t have jiu-jitsu, he’s not a strong guy on the floor. And sure he’s a good striker, but just for points, not for knockouts.”

Both Silva and Adesanya are yet to fight anytime soon but Adesanya is definitely going to fight Whittaker in the near future for Whittaker has earned all the rights to be the number one contender as of now. How soon Silva and Adesanya will meet each other, only time will tell.
