“He doesn’t have the right juice to do anymore,” Colby Covington trolls Jon Jones on his Heavyweight comeback
Colby Covington and Jon Jones
The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones’s ongoing dispute with UFC isn’t hidden from anyone. Since Francis Ngannou won the UFC Heavyweight Championship, Jones has been negotiating with the promotion for his contract.
The former UFC interim Welterweight champion, Colby Covington also didn’t miss the opportunity to troll Jones for his ongoing issue. While talking to MMA Roasted Podcast, Covington says,
“No, he’s Jon Jones not fighting at heavyweight man, He’s done, he doesn’t have the right scientist, the right juice to do anymore. He knows he’s done. He’s trying to get one more cash grab and hope that it’s so much money that he doesn’t have to do anything but I don’t think he’s ever fighting again. I just don’t see it.”
Colby Covington added, “If he wanted a fight, he would have fought already, He would have went back to light heavyweight and fought Jan or something. He’s too small for heavyweight man.” {H/T Essentially Sports}
“He’s just looking to get a big cash grab with Francis but he knows he’s going to get knocked out so he’s trying to get as much money as he can to take that a*s beating.”
Jon Jones expects Richard Schaefer to break a deal for him with Dana White
Jon Jones vacated the UFC Light Heavyweight title in pursuit to change his weight category, go to Heavyweight and become a two-division champion. Since he vacated the title nothing seems to be working in his favor.
Recently, Jones signed the former Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer as his new advisor. The UFC president Dana White has good relation with Schaefer.
Although many people are expecting him to break a deal with White for Jones’s Heavyweight debut but the promotion has already moved on from Jonny Bones and even he is ready to wait until next year to fight once again.
Dana White even said it won’t be a bad idea for Jon Jones to hang his gloves. So it will be interesting to see whether the negotiations will go in his favor or people like Covington will keep making fun of him.
