Diaz has only one fight left on his UFC contract and he wants a big name for this fight. Although the idea of booking a fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz appeared tempting to Dana White as well and he is all in for this fight. But the fans and critics over the internet suggested that this fight is going to be a one-sided affair for Khamzat and UFC is throwing Diaz to the wolf.

Replying to all this in his latest interview with Robbie Fox, Dana White revealed Khamzat Chimaev’s fight was offered to Nate Diaz even before UFC 267, White says, “That fight was offered to him before this weekend, it’s not like this that it just popped out of the thin air and this fight was offered to him before this weekend. I usually don’t talk about that sh*t publicly.”

“Everybody’s thrown into the wolves, I mean I was just talking about last night with that kid (Khamzat Chimaev) he came in here and fought a tough veteran and I told him hey kid everybody here is tough, you think these guys are waiting to get to UFC and this isn’t a diss I love Nate Diaz, you know Nick and Nate as much as anybody else does.”
