In the end Fury emerged victorious, thereby sealing the deal on one of the most entertaining trilogies in the history of the sport. Following the fight, former UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier and former NFL star Ryan Clark revealed their top 5 trilogy fights of all time.

While both went for Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier as the best trilogy fight ever, their list varied otherwise. Clark picked Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder but DC didn’t.

Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark pick Chuck Liddell vs Randy Couture

While there is no arguing with the fact that Ali vs Frazier was their number one pick, the others barring Chuck Liddell vs Randy Coutoure might be debatable.

DC named it as the second-best, while Clark – fourth. Following a knockout win over Liddell at UFC 43, Couture was demolished by a resurgent Liddell in the next two fights – at UFC 52 and UFC 57 respectively. Liddell won both the fights via. KO. There were two other common trilogies both DC and Clark picked. The first one was Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier himself. Miocic won the trilogy 2-1.

The other was the heated boxing bout between Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward. While Ward won the first fight, Gatti came back a stronger man taking the next two.

The other trilogies that made it to DC’s list were Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield and Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard. Posting the same on Twitter, DC wrote: “Another dub over @Realrclark25 his list was decent but I got him again! Got his first dub last week and got cocky. DC&RC @espnmma.”

What changes would you make to the same?
