Although UFC 273 is stacked all the way through, the one name everybody seems most intrigued by is Khamzat Chimaev. The unbeaten Swede will face his toughest test on Saturday in the form of Brazilian powerhouse Gilbert Burns. ‘Borz’ boasts not just a perfect 10-0 record but a 100% finish rate. Chimaev is yet to see the third round of a fight. If that wasn’t enough, he set a modern-day UFC record by winning twice in 10 days across two weight divisions. Add to it all, Khamzat Chimaev has the most absurd striking differential in perhaps all of UFC history – he has been hit with one significant strike in four UFC fights. It’s an astounding statistic.

When Darren Till was asked about his fellow ‘Smesh Bros’ physical condition, he said: “8 days of hard work, perseverance will have paid off for Khamzat Chimaev. His weight is brilliant. His fitness is brilliant, his gas tank is brilliant and his strength. 8 days out. It was good shit.”

Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns got the chance to size each other up earlier today in Jacksonville, Florida. It is a highly anticipated matchup with the winner likely being rewarded with a future welterweight title shot. Khamzat Chimaev has gone 4-0 inside of the Octagon since bursting onto the scene at Fight Island. ‘Borz’ is coming off a dominant first-round submission victory over Li Jingliang in his most recent effort at UFC 267.

Meanwhile, Gilbert Burns returned to the win column his last time out, scoring a unanimous decision victory over fellow former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson. That win was of course preceded by a TKO loss to reigning 170lbs kingpin Kamaru Usman. While the pair have exchanged some jabs and low blows on social media, there appeared to be nothing but respect between Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns when they crossed paths earlier today. Who are you predicting to emerge victorious when Chimaev and Burns collide in the Octagon at UFC 273?
