‘Co-main Leon Edwards?” – Gilbert Burns

Gilbert Burns tweeted, Co main @Leon_edwardsmma?”, followed by a couple of ‘eye glancing to the right’ emojis. Burns is coming off a victory over Stephen Thompson in the co-main event of UFC 264. The Brazilian won a contest that looked to be quite close for a while, via. unanimous decision. Prior to beating Thompson, Burns had lost to Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 258, while challenging for the welterweight title.

Leon Edwards, on the other hand, is coming off a very close and entertaining unanimous decision victory over Nate Diaz in a five-round non-title fight at UFC 263. Having dominated the ‘Stockton Slugger’ for almost the entirety of the match, Edwards found himself in danger of losing his incredible winning streak in the last minute of the fight after a nasty strike from Diaz. However, he held on and weathered the storm.
