Zabit Magomedsharipov’s future remains uncertain after the UFC removed him from the featherweight rankings a month ago. He was ranked number 3 in the rankings when his name was removed. Although Zabit hasn’t really released any statement regarding his future, a lot of questions are afloat about the same.
There were rumors that he was dealing with some immune system problems, and he might retire. No official statement was released by Zabit Magomedsharipov, but Dominance MMA bigshot Rizvan Magomedov talked about this in his recent interview, he said, “Those issues are still there, he is trying to solve them. It’s not about any mechanical injury. It’s about his immune system. And, that is why sometimes he struggles to get in a proper shape ahead of his fights. So as long as he is dealing with his problem, he won’t be able to let you know the final verdict. We should just wait.”
“I believe he can be the champion“- Ali Abdelaziz is extremely confident in Zabit Magomedsharipov’s abilities
Now we have received a word from Ali Abdelaziz, and he claimed that Zabit has already started training, but he would have to talk to the UFC and Zabit himself to know for sure if he’s coming back or not. In his recent interview with the MMA Junkie, he said, “Zabit is training. He’s in the USADA program, but he went through some health problems.“
Ali added, “He’s back training, and I think this is a conversation me and the UFC will have probably next week about Zabit to see what the future holds for him, and we’re going to see what happens. But I believe he’s one of the baddest men in this division. I believe he can be the champion tomorrow. Alexander is a great champion, but I think Zabit is on a different level.”
“It’s a conversation I need to have with Sean Shelby next week, and we’re going to figure out what Zabit wants to do, also. It’s not just a UFC problem. Zabit has to be like, ‘Hey, I’m ready to fight this month and this date for this much money.’ And now I’ll talk to Sean and we’re going to figure things out,” Ali concluded.
