Henry Cejudo welcomes Jon Jones

Jon Jones, the former UFC heavyweight champion was banished from his gym Jackson Wink by his trainer Mike Winkeljohn after his alleged arrest for a “misdemeanor”.

Capitalizing on this opportunity, Henry Cejudo offered Jones a position in his gym Fight Ready, situated in Arizona. He has already been training well with the Fight Ready team, confirmed Cejudo. Jones has since then also brought his family to the gym to celebrate Thanksgiving with the team. Does this mean that he will continue with Fight Ready?

Cejudo is a former champ, and he has helped Zhang Weili and Figueiredo in the past, talking about Jones, he said, “He knew that there was a lot of room for improvement for him, even though him being the GOAT. We’re bringing new techniques, we’re bringing structure, we’re bringing a whole other level of how is it that we kind of run our program. It’s all dedicated towards somebody like Jon.”

My job is to dissect his fundamentals,” Henry Cejudo talks about his role in Jon Jones’ return

The champ is welcome,” Cejudo said in an interview with The Schmo. When you’re the champ, when you’re the GOAT, you really can do whatever it is that you want to do. But one thing that I do feel like he would have at Fight Ready is just structure.”

He continued by stating, “I think that’s the reason why he loves coming out here – because of the people, the team, the professionalism that we have out here. My job is to dissect him. My job is to dissect his fundamentals. My job is to pinpoint all the minor little things he’s missing – because he is missing a lot of things, but he’s such a great student.”

Cejudo is not an alien to taking great fighters under his tutelage. He also has the UFC strawweight champion, Zhang Weili training in his gym. When asked about his opinion on Jones, Henry said that he is very impressed with his eagerness to learn and his humbleness.
