Luigi Vendramini is hoping to play spoilsport to Paddy Pimblett’s debut plans, as the Liverpudlian looks forward to continuing his Cage Warriors Fighting Championship success in the UFC as well. After a successful stint at CWFC, Pimblett will be making his UFC debut in the main card of UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Till.

At the UFC Vegas 36 media day, Paddy Pimblett’s opponent Luigi Vendramini had a few things to say about the Scouser. While he did acknowledge Pimblett’s success at Cage Warriors, the Brazilian warned that the UFC would be a whole different ball game. He then brought up Pimblett being the best fighter in England but losing the World Cup (Euro), referring to the recently concluded 2021 Euro.

“He seems to be a popular fighter in his own country” – Luigi Vendramini on Paddy Pimblett

Luigi Vendramini was quoted as saying, “He seems to be a popular fighter in his own country. He’s had good fights in Cage Warriors. He has good jiu-jitsu and keeps a cool head during fights. He’s good at selling himself on the microphone – a showman. But we’ll see how he does on September 4. Talk is cheap. He’s been doing well outside the UFC. The UFC is a very different story. He could very well be the best fighter in England, but this is the World Cup.” [via MMA Junkie]

Vendramini is coming off a loss against Fares Ziam at UFC 263. He has been in a rut since joining the UFC. Having come into the promotion with a record of 8 wins and no losses, Vendramini has managed to win just one of his three fights in the UFC. However, he is relatively young, and has several years to make a name for himself.

Paddy Pimblett, on the other hand, will be looking forward to doing a Conor McGregor. The Irishman, like Pimblett was a Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion as well. He then moved to the UFC, and the rest is history.
