The former UFC Welterweight fighter, Mike Perry recently made an exit from UFC and joined Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Perry managed to win only one out of his last five fights in UFC and all this led him to be cut from the promotion.

Now he is ready to write a new chapter of his MMA career in BKFC and talking about it in his recent interview with Ariel Helwani for MMA hour, Mike Perry says, “These businesses compete for that Mike Perry money, and they and I, we all helped raise awareness for violent people all over the world who deserve more respect,”

“They’re willing to fight for it, and they fight for it over and over again, and they get something that they’ve never been offered before, I’m in the ‘Platinum’ Perry business, and whatever I need to do to take care of the fam is what I need to do.”

Perry also revealed that he turned down a fight against the former UFC Lightweight interim title challenger, Kevin Lee and he knows that he missed out on that opportunity but now he wants to stay focused on his career in BKFC.

Mike Perry added, “There’s no need to say anything negative, I’m grateful and happy for this opportunity, and I want to make things happen for myself, put my own flare into it.” {H/t MMA Fighting}

Mike Perry isn’t closing the doors of competing again in UFC

Mike Perry is expected to make his BKFC debut in January and he is about to start training for this new form of martial art very soon. He is also open to any opportunities of making more money that comes his way while fighting for BKFC.

Perry added, “I’m interested in fighting great competitors for money, when it comes to punching in the face, I think I can be skilled there. But there’s no way out, right, and there’s no defense in that sh*t, I don’t think. You’ve got to just hit them first and hit them hard and then do it again, I guess. Get in and out, and stay in too, that clinch stuff, that’s going to be interesting.”

Right now, Mike Perry is completely focused on adding more zeros in his bank account and after that, he’ll worry about competing at the highest level of MMA again. Perry continued, “Now, I’ve got these people’s money behind me, they’re saying this is what we’re all going to put out.”

“So I’m going to become this champion over here, and I can’t lie and say that I don’t see who the champ is, so let’s go. I’m not going to get that fight first, so I’m here to fight any man to prove my worth and wherever we get to a gold belt. I deserve a platinum or a gold, or a platinum and gold belt sometime in my life time, dammit.” {H/t MMA Fighting}
