3 Super Bouts set in action as ONE Championship returns on 31st July

ONE Championship

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong took his Facebook page to announce the return of ONE: NO SURRENDER, on the 31st of July. ONE fans are treated with quite a treat as 2 World Title matches and a featherweight kickboxing super-bout is scheduled on the return, being held in Bangkok, Thailand.

With the Current Fight Card seeming to look like this-

  • ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship
Rodtang Jitmuangnon (C) vs Petchdam Petchyindee Academy
    Muay Thai: 61.2kg
  • ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship
Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy (C) vs Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex
    Muay Thai: 70.3kg
  • ONE Super Series Kickboxing Super-Bout
    Superbon Banchamek vs Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong
    Kickboxing: 70.3kg

The first of the fights have the reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon putting his World Title on the line against former ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee Academy, for the 3rd time. While both fighters coming of dominating victories, Petchdam would aim to achieve the unthinkable as Rodtang has looked fairly untouchable in ONE.

Petchmorakot has rightly picked the World Title in his hands in February beating Pongsiri PK. Saenchaimuaythaigym. While his opponent is known as the ‘The Boxing Computer’, the World Champion would like to reclaim his authority over the division. This fight by many experts has been indicated as the fight of two eras.

Talking about the Kickboxing Super-Bout, the pair have not met in the last 4 years and has a split of two matches. The fight could surely break the knot amongst both the fighters.
