Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili, both legends in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), will fight again this weekend at UFC 275 in Kallang, Singapore. The initial brawl between Jedrzejczyk and Weili was one of the closest fights we’ve ever seen and it doesn’t get much better, either, as their five-round bout in March 2020 is largely considered the best female fight in UFC history.

Since then, Jedrzejczyk has waited on the sidelines, waiting for the right time to return to the game. Meanwhile, Weili has suffered a pair of losses against Rose Namajunas, which has left her keen to reclaim the belt. It will be difficult for Jedrzejczyk to overcome Zhang Weili.

Daniel Cormier, like every reasonable mixed martial art (MMA) fan on the planet, is looking forward to part two. The former UFC Champ Champ Cormier will be in the commentary booth for the huge event from Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday 11th June 2022, and he had some fascinating comments about Zhang ahead of her return.

However, the former two-division champion does not believe the sequel will surpass the original. In a recent interview during the media scrum, Daniel stated:

“I think we’re gonna see a lot of skills. I don’t think that we’re gonna see that type of aggression, that type of head-on collision that we saw in the first fight. I think for Joanna to win, she’s got to be smarter.”

He added, “I think that in the time away she has recognized that and understands that even though the boogeywoman is a fun character, at times, you can’t fight like the boogeywoman. You gotta be a little bit more sharp in your approach. Especially when you’re fighting — honestly, Zhang Weili is legit the greatest athlete I think I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”
