“Funkmaster” has been proving haters wrong ever since he won that belt at UFC 259. However, a lot of people missed something that happened after that PPV as Aljo squared up against former champion Henry Cejudo. This beef has been going on ever since with multiple callouts.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, the interviewer asked Sterling about the comments made by Dana White and Ariel Helwani about the Cejudo fight. Sterling responded, saying: “I’m not fighting till mid-next year. That’s my honest opinion. I earned my time off, so Henry can go kick rocks.” Sterling revealed that he didn’t think Cejudo was the money fight for him. He wasn’t convinced by Cejudo’s drawing power given he’s been out of the octagon since 2020.

Sterling also shared who he thinks the money fights would be in the same interview as he said, “I think people would be more excited to see me fight Chito than Cejudo. I think as a whole Sean (O’Malley) just draws better than Cejudo.”

The interviewer also explained how a lot of people underestimate Suga in a manner similar to the way they underestimated Sterling. As exciting as those fights sound, fans won’t get to see any of those fights until the middle of next year. Sterling seemed to double down on his remarks in the comments section of the interview’s Instagram post.

Henry Cejudo has always been a divisive fighter. Many love him for his skills within the octagon, while others can’t stand him because of his shenanigans outside it. However, one thing is for sure, and that is, Cejudo isn’t afraid of speaking his mind.

Henry was being interviewed by ESPN where he talked about himself coming out of retirement. The interviewer asked him about the Sterling fight, CCC said that it was most likely to happen in Australia and all that was left was for Sterling to sign the contract.

Cejudo didn’t stop there as he also laid out that he would be the betting favorite in a potential fight against Aljamain Sterling. He elaborated on this, and said, “He’s a tune-up, he’s a tune-up for me.

Cejudo said his plan was to regain his Bantamweight championship and defend it, after which he plans to go up in weight class. There he wants to fight 145lb champion Alexander Volkanovski and former champion, Max Holloway. Though it remains to be seen what happens, all of these potential fights seem like real treats for UFC fans.
