In the Saturday night main event of UFC 276 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Israel Adesanya defeated Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision to successfully defend his UFC Middleweight Championship.
The champion was mostly restricted to leg kicks and jabs throughout the fight, and Cannonier was less of a threat as the audience booed him at various moments in rounds four and five. Some even departed early since there was little doubt as to whose hand would be raised. In the end, Adesanya did not need to take the risk, and his next middleweight championship opponent will probably be Alex Pereira. No highlight-reel knockout occurred.
