Jan Blachowicz is all in for squeezing his title shot out from all the drama with Jiri Prochazka on the keyboard. Blachowicz, the former UFC-light heavyweight champion, is coming off a win against Aleksandar Rakic but the win comes as a result of Rakic’s abrupt knee injury early in the third round of their 5-round main event. Regardless, Blachowicz has a record of incredible wins over the likes of Volkan Oezdemir, Luke Rockhold, Corey Anderson, Dominick Reyes, Ronaldo Souza, Jared Cannonier and many more. Blachowicz is also the only man to defeat the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Jiri Prochazka, on the other hand, is the current UFC light-heavyweight champion who’s coming off a huge win against preceding champion Glover Teixeira in a fight of the year battle. Prochazka needed just 2 wins before the Teixeira fight, a knockout each over both Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir that led him to a title fight and eventually become the first Czech UFC champion. Prochazka has a record of 29-3 in his overall MMA career, with 28 wins via finishes.
Jiri Prochazka affirms Glover Teixeira has not responded back to his rematch challenge
Blachowicz took to Twitter to publish a couple of tweets that went like this: “Facts: – As a first male fighter in Poland I became the UFC Champ. – Because of my work – my name garners respect. – Never shied away from any challenge. – I went to the UFC to create great moments for the fans. – I’m not done yet. @danawhite – no bullshit, no politics, no-nonsense. Give me Prochazka and I’ll give you the biggest MMA fight in Europe’s history. Unlike him I always keep my word.”
Prochazka took his day to respond to Blachowicz and also had an additional message for Glover Teixeira since Prochazka has called out Teixeira for a rematch. He said “I never promised you our fight @JanBlachowicz I just said you are the challange what I want to Cut. Second thing is, Iam still waiting for answer from @gloverteixeira. If you’re not interested, let me know. I want to fight till the end of this year. No matter who.“
What do you make of this back and forth on Twitter between Blachowicz and Teixeira? As you can read, Blachowicz has already called his potential title fight against Prochazka to be the “biggest MMA fight in Europe’s history.” So what do you think should be done in this situation if you were to make the next title fight at 205 lbs?
