“Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya have to be around each other”- Brendan Schaub proposes an interesting idea for UFC 276

Brendan Schaub wants UFC to book Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones on the same fight card, he is looking forward to the drama between these two.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has been waiting to make his heavyweight debut ever since he relinquished his title. He wanted a better contract for himself, and he had a little fallout with Dana White. Now they’re on the same page, and Dana wants to book him against the former heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic.

Dana White is hopeful to get Jones back in the cage this year. In an interview with TMZ, White claimed the comeback for him which makes the most sense is Miocic. “I was just telling somebody the other day, our lineup for this summer is incredible,” White said. “So I’m hoping Jones is going to be part of that lineup this summer. … Stipe makes sense.”

The UFC is looking for introducing an interim belt regardless, though, since reigning heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is expected to be sidelined for the rest of 2022. A matchup against these two would make sense for the division and a treat for the fans.

“You’re gonna have nonstop soundbytes”- Brendan Schaub is looking forward to the drama between Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones

Israel Adesanya is also set to defend his middleweight title against Jared Cannonier. Adesanya and Jones had a little back and forth back in the day, and Adesanya promised to move up to the light heavyweight division to test his will against Jones. Now that he’s competing in the heavyweight division, this fight seems less likely to happen, but Brendan Schaub proposed an interesting proposition for UFC 276.

In his recent YouTube video, he said, “Now if I’m the UFC, for UFC 276, and I want some shenanigans. I want this thing to pop, right? I want a bubbler in my mouth… What I would do for a bubbler of an event is I’d put Izzy in there against Cannonier in the co-main event. And you’re gonna have nonstop soundbytes because Jon and Izzy have to be around each other during press and that just builds that drama up even more.”
