Grishin could not make the fight due to visa issues and hence Ovince has agreed to move up to heavyweight and fight a short-notice against Tanner Boser. The fight will take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Ovince is coming off a devastating loss against Jamahal Hill at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Vettori. The fighter lost via stoppage in the second round. He has a record of 25-15-0 in his professional career and will look to get back on the winning charts. Some highlights of his career were against Dominick Reyes at UFC 229 and Jon Jones at UFC 197 for the title.

Tanner Boser is coming off a loss against Ilir Latifi on June 6th. He previously lost against former champion Andrei Arlovski last year. Two consecutive losses makes it a very tricky situation with Boser making his bout against Ovince Saint Preux a must win. He has an edge over his opponent given Tanner usually fights at heavyweight.

This isn’t the first Saint Preux is competing at heavyweight. The former title contender has fought at heavyweight once before in 2020. The bout didn’t go down too well for him as he lost via split decision to Ben Rothwell. The UFC Vegas 30 fight card will be headlined by another heavyweight bout between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov.
