UFC light heavyweight fighter Thiago Santos does not think very highly of YouTube boxer Jake Paul. The Brazilian MMA fighter believes Anderson Silva could be a lot of work for Jake in a boxing match.

Thiago Santos is going to headline UFC Vegas 37 to face Johnny Walker in a light heavyweight battle. The fighter recently appeared on the podcast Trocacao Franca where he spoke about his fellow countryman, Anderson Silva, cruising in the boxing ring. Silva is coming off a highlight reel win against Tito Ortiz and has challenged the YouTube boxer to a boxing match.

“He is gaining experience, conquering victories, but what I saw in his last fight against Tyron Woodley, he looks like a beginner. He doesn’t even know how to be in the ring. He makes gross mistakes. Woodley had the obligation to beat him. And he had the opportunity to do so,” said Thiago on the podcast. [Translated by MMA Fighting]

Thiago Santos believes Jake Paul is not a professional boxer

“Jake does not have enough level to face a professional athlete even if it’s not a boxer, but a professional MMA athlete that trains everything, that trains boxing for years. He’ll get knocked out if he fights Anderson,” said Santos in the podcast. Jake is coming off a split decision win against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on 29th August of 2021. Despite his win, it looks like Jake still has a chip on his shoulder with all the doubters.

“He knows what he’s doing. He’s handpicking the right opponents, he’s setting a career plan for him, but he’ll have to fight a real fighter eventually someone will put him in his place. But it won’t happen now. He will never choose me. No way.”
