Irene Aldana opens up on missing weight
Aldana claimed that the menstrual cycle interfered with her weight cut. In a statement on Twitter, Aldana explained that her body stopped sweating, making it immensely difficult for her to cut weight. She also issued an apology to her opponent, Yana Kunitskaya.
Aldana’s tweet read, “In all my career this is the first time I had missed weight, I tried hard and push my body to the limit. But it stopped sweating. Got my menstrual cycle during fight week and I’m sure my body stopped because of that.”
