The number 8th ranked UFC Featherweight fighter, Dan Ige is going to face the biggest name of his career until now in the form of the former title contender, Chan Sung Jung in the main event of UFC Vegas 28.

Ige is coming into this fight with a spectacular 22 second TKO win against Gavin Tucker on UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad. He lost only one out of his last eight fights and he believes a win against ‘The Korean Zombie’ will catapult him into the top 5 of the rankings.

In his latest interview with MMA Junkie, Dan Ige says, “It’s the fight that’s going to propel me to the next level, It’s the fight that’s going to put me into the top five. It’s going to put me into that title contention range, and ‘The Korean Zombie’ is a legend.”

“So I want to face household names like ‘Zombie,’ (Edson) Barboza. I want to have these guys on my resume, and ‘The Korean Zombie’ is a guy I watched forever.” {H/T MMA Junkie}

He continued, “I’m a big fan of his, and I love his style. I just also think it’ll make a fun fight for myself, for the fans, for the company, and it’s going to raise my stock. One hundred percent, it’s going to raise his stock.”

“We’re going to go out there and put on a good show, and this is my opportunity to break into the top of those household names.” {H/T MMA Junkie}

‘The Korean Zombie’ is coming into this fight with a loss against Brain Ortega. He is a UFC veteran, who has faced many of the biggest names in the promotion such as Frankie Edgar, Dustin Poirier, Jose Aldo, and many others.

Chan Sung Jung is known for his durability, still, Dan Ige believes he’ll be able to end him in the fight. He added, “He’s a veteran, he’s durable, but he’s durable against certain guys,”

“Will he be durable against me? Maybe. I’ll be prepared if he is. But at the end of the day, I know if I can touch him clean anywhere, he’s going to go out cold.”
