UFC Vegas 31: Billy Quarantillo earns an impressive victory over Gabriel Benitez with his nonstop onslaught

Billy Quarantillo faced Gabriel Benitez in a featherweight contest at the main card of UFC Vegas 31, and after three rounds of war, Billy stopped his opponent to get the victory.

The main card of UFC Vegas 31 started with the featherweight contest between Gabriel Benitez (22-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and Billy Quarantillo (15-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC). This one went down exactly as advertised and after three rounds of violence, Billy Quarantillo secured the victory via TKO.

Round 1: Billy started the round strong, he dropped Benitez with a big right and immediately took control of things on the top, Benitez tried to get up but Billy secured the back position and got the body lock from the back, Benitez did a good job of fighting the hands and not getting trapped in a rear-naked choke. Billy was hurting him with some nice shots but he got up and landed a nice uppercut to finish the fight.

Round 2: Billy started the fight with a flying knee, and slammed Benitez on the ground, he again secured back hooks and again went for the rear-naked choke but Benitez wasn’t having it. He absorbed some damage on the ground but managed to get up, Billy then unleashed some devastating punches on the feet that forced the referee to bring in the doctor to check Benitez’s eye, he was in the safe but Billy kept on doing the damage.

Round 3: Benitez needed something significant in this round, and he dropped Billy with a big shot, but he recovered well and got back up, Benitez started landing the jab-straight combination but Billy remained in pursuit of a takedown and finally got one, he once again secured the back hook and ended the fight with a fury of punches.
