Lupita Godinez is heading right into breaking Khamzat Chimaev‘s record. The UFC women’s flyweight contender is back against Luana Carolina, just after a week of Godinez’s last victory. The fight was made as a result of Godinez’s agreement to replace Sijara Eubanks against Carolina. Godinez’s last victory came from a submission win against Silvana Gomez Juarez this past weekend in Las Vegas at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Rodriguez. The move to step up as replacement was first reported by ESPN Deportes.
Godinez is a former LFA Champion at strawweight and has fought twice under UFC so far. The reason she has been claimed to probably break Khamzat Chimaev’s record is because of the fact that Khamzat has a record of winning two straight UFC fights, both via. finishes, within a span of 10 days. So if Godinez wins this one, irrespective of the decision or a finish, she will nonetheless break that 10-day record and will set the benchmark to seven.
Carolina was originally scheduled to face Maryna Moroz, if this name rings a bell to you for recent news, Moroz’s is Mariya Agapova’s former teammate now turned a bad rival, about whom Agapova unleashed upon in her recent post-fight interview of the same card in which Godinez was fighting. Then suddenly changing from Moroz, Carolina then had to prepare for Eubanks before finally facing Lupita Godinez. Carolina is coming off a split decision victory over Poliana Botelho in May.
