The Welterweight contest of UFC Vegas 41’s fight card features the fight between Francisco Trinaldo and Dwight Grant. Trinaldo is a UFC veteran who formerly used to fight in the Lightweight division. He made his Welterweight debut in his last fight against Muslim Salikhov at UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Sakai.

Trinaldo lost his Welterweight debut and now he’ll look forward to coming back in the win column with this one at UFC Vegas 41. Dwight Grant on the other hand got fame from Dana White Contender Series 10 and he is coming into this fight with a win against Stefan Sekulic at UFC 261.

Round 1: Trinaldo takes the center and Grant lands the first jab of the fight. Grant tried to use his length and Trinaldo tries to get close to him. Grant kicks to the body and Trinaldo answer him with a left hand. Trinaldo pumped his jab and Grant swings a high kick but misses. Overhand left secures for Trinaldo and Grant lands a jab just before the round ends.

Round 2: Grant fakes a jab and lands a right hand following it. Trinaldo tries to land a big kick and Grant lands a straight right hand in the middle. Trinaldo attacks the leg and Grant tags him with a heavy shot and pushed him on the floor. He lands a left hand and holds him in the clinch. They traded again once before the bell.

Round 3: Early low kicks land for Grant and he takes a break. As soon as the fight continued Grant recoiled from an eye poke and the referee cut one point as he already warned him. Right-hand scores for Grant and Trinaldo drags him to the ground and Grant remains in half guard. He kept the pressure heavy and ends the round on the top.

Result: Francisco Trinaldo def Dwight Grant via split decision (27-29, 29-27, 29-27)
