UFC Vegas 43: Adrian Yanez outpoints Davey Grant and secures a split decision win in a razor-close fight

The UFC Bantamweight fighter, Adrian Yanez extended his win streak to seven fights with a split decision win against Davey Grant at UFC Vegas 43.

The opening fight of UFC Vegas 43 main card features the fighter between two of the most exciting UFC Bantamweight fighters, Davey Grant and Adrian Yanez. Yanez is one of the most exciting prospects in the Bantamweight division who earned his UFC contract by knocking out Brady Huang on Dana White Contender Series 28.

He is coming into this fight with seven fights winning streak with his latest win coming against Randy Costa at UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs Dillashaw. Davey Grant on the other hand is coming into this fight at UFC Vegas 43 with a loss against Marlon Vera in his last fight at UFC on ESPN: The Korean Zombie vs Ige.

Round 1: Grant started the striking with a leg kick and Yanez returns the favor with a combination. Grant slips while moving backward and Yanez pushed forward and throw a flurry of punches. Grant stayed calm and retreated from those shots. Yanez lands an overhand right and Grant replies to him with a hard inside leg kick. Grant lands a combination followed by one more leg kick and Yanez connects with a stiff combination just before the round ends.

Round 2: Yanez lands a cracking right hand to start the fight and Grant fires back. He moved forward with a two-punch combination and Yanez chops off his legs. Grant tries to land a spinning back fist and Yanez catches him up and dragged him into the canvas. After a momentary stop due to an eye poke from Grant, Yanze continues. Yanez lands jabs and Grant caught him with a three-punch combo. Grant lands a flying knee followed by a big punch and Yanez got hit bad just before the horn sounds.

Round 3: Yanez started chopping the legs once again as the action continued and Grant traded some shots within the pocket. Grant’s nose got busted open and Yanez lands one more right hand. Grant moves forward and tries to land one more flying knee but missed it completely. They traded kicks and Grant and Yanez both lands jabs at each other. Yanez eats an uppercut right before the end of the final round.

Result: Adrian Yanez def Davey Grant via Split Decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)
