Yoel Romero is currently plying his trade in the Bellator. He was scheduled to face Anthony Rumble Johnson but withdrew due to a failed medical. Not long ago, ‘The Soldier of God’ was plying his trade at the top of the UFC’s middleweight division. The Cuban faced middleweight king Israel Adesanya in a title fight last year at UFC 247.

In one of the most boring fights according to a lot of experts, Adesanya came out unscathed winning via. unanimous decision. Yoel Romero accused Adesanya of running and playing it safe after the match, and claimed that he was robbed. However, it was the Last Stylebender’s night.

That’s the first fight Izzy lost‘ – Yoel Romero

In a recent interview with the Schmo, Romero claimed that Adesanya has lost just one fight in his career and that it was against him. Shocking as it may sound, Romero cheekily said with the smirk that the Nigerian hasn’t lost any other fight (even against Jan Blachowicz).

Romero was quoted as saying, “Izzy has only lost one fight – with me. That’s the first fight Izzy lost – it was with me.” Adesanya has since gone on to defend his middleweight title once against Paulo Costa at UFC 253. He then aimed to become a two-division champion but was stopped by the light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259.
